Our Farm's Practices

Healthy Soil
We use regenerative practices to maximize soil health. Our goal is a soil full of beneficial microbes, mycelium, insects and earthworms. Our scale helps us minimize soil disruption and keep a living plant in place as much as practical. In addition, increasing the organic matter in our soil sequesters carbon from the atmosphere.

No Synthetic Inputs
We limit the use of our organically certified fertilizers AND we do not use herbicides, insecticides nor synthetic fertilizers. Why? So our soil will thrive using an ecological, biological approach. Fighting nature is a losing battle. See an excellent article here. Our goal is for our living soil to grow a more nutrient dense vegetable.

Limited Washing
Many farms or producers wash their vegetables 3 times (triple-washed) to avoid disease. This is a result of our industrial food system. We limit washing to avoid introducing bad microbes into the process and our vegetables. This means you may see a bug or some soil when you wash your purchased vegetables.
